The Office of the Space Regulator is responsible for regulating and oversight of Australian space and high power rocket activities for safety, security and national interests.

  • Space (Launches and Returns) (Insurance) Rules 2019

Regulated community

Persons undertaking, or intending to undertake space activities, including:

  • operating a launch facility in Australia
  • launching a space object or high power rocket from Australia
  • returning a space object to Australia
  • an Australian launching a space object overseas
  • an Australian returning a space object overseas.
